A Life Worth Breathing – Workshop Wochenende mit Max Strom

Born with severe clubbed feet, Max Strom spent much of the first six years of his life with his feet confined in plaster casts and braces. Today, he is known for inspiring and impacting the lives of people from all walks of life, teaching personal transformation and Inner Axis yoga worldwide. His teachings are not limited by contemporary yoga culture, and instead they are known to reach the heart of people across the globe. His method addresses the internal, and emotional aspects of our life, as well as physical healing.  He has taught tens of thousands of students, trained several hundred teachers. Many know him for his two inspiring books: A Life Worth Breathing, published in five languages and used as required reading in many yoga trainings, and, There is No APP for Happiness, addressing the challenge of finding meaning in the digital age. A dynamic speaker, Max has presented three TEDx events, a keynote speech on ethics at the Lu Lu Lemon global management conference, and keynote addresses at wellness conferences, corporate conferences, and many yoga festivals. Most recently he presented at the first Wellness Symposium in Saudi Arabia, and the prestigious World Government Summit in Dubai. His TEDx talk, Breathe to Heal, is one of the most viewed talks on breath work in history. Max is

recognised by both the Yoga Alliance US and UK at their Advanced Teacher Level (ERYT 500). You can see more of Max Strom’s work on his DVDs. www.maxstrom.com

The weekend seminar will give you knowledge to take home and to work with you to help you live a more vital and peaceful life. Classes include lecture, movement and writing. Profound, funny, and very timely! Bring writing materials and your mat!

Session 1: Friday, January 17th, from 19:00 - 21:00
Vital Life-Better Sleep: Stress management
This evening workshop deals directly with the modern plague of sleeplessness and stress.  In America, the Center for Disease Control has declared sleep disorder an epidemic, and this is happening in industrial cities across the world.  This workshop will help you re-think your priorities and give you knowledge to take home with you to help you sleep and live more at ease. This workshop begins with a lecture, and then moves into a gentle restorative sequence of postures and gentle movement that immediately trigger deep relaxation. Simple, powerful accessible. Max will give you knowledge to take home with you to help you live more at ease with improved sleep.
All levels are welcome! Bring writing materials.
Session 2: Saturday, January 18th 2020, from  09:00 - 11:00
Learn to Breathe, to Heal Yourself and Your Relationships
How does the way we breathe affect our stress level, anxiety, quality of sleep, and even our relationships? Breath penetrates, breath invigorates, and breath heals. The effect of Max’s breath work can lead to profound release and calm. Other benefits may include increased energy and mental clarity. This works so quickly and effectively that Max has successfully brought his unique breathing program into the corporate world.  Class will include a lecture, simple but high impact breathing exercises; very gentle breath-initiated movement, and guided meditation.
All levels welcome!
Session 3: Saturday, January 18th, from 13:00 - 15:00
Opening the body – and finding your Emotions
This movement workshop begins very gently and then builds momentum.  At the apex we move directly into a special sequence of postures that opens the internal body that induces an emotional sense of release, brings the mind into stillness, and the body into a new state of energy.  This class is both challenging and very healing.  This is a movement based workshop so please bring your mat.
All levels welcome!
Session 4: Sunday, January 19th 2020 from  09:00 - 11:00
Strength, Grace, and Healing
The intent of yoga is not only to increase our strength and flexibility, but also to promote health and vitality.  The next layer is to transform our behavior from coarse to gracious, and to transform even our very thoughts, from chaos to beauty.  Experience Max Strom’s unique yoga practice, called, Inner Axis, with emphasis on emotional transformation. Class will include a short talk, inner axis yoga, non-dogmatic philosophy, breathing, and meditation.
All levels welcome!

Session 5: Sunday, January 19th 2020, from 13:00 – 15:00
The Yoga of Nonviolent Relationships
How do you want to be remembered? Do people trust you? Respect you? How do you treat others when you don't need anything from them? We discuss ethics every day as we complain about people's behavior with driving, money, politics, comments on blogs, and especially romantic relationships. But we often do not look at our own actions and impact on others.  Notice that we have two sets of ethics: One set we practice when calm and happy; and another when we feel afraid, angry, or exhausted.  The work is to have one set of ethics to protect those we love from our anger. Please bring writing material with you.

All levels welcome!
